Refreshing Designs

Danielle Glorvigen, owner of Refreshing Designs, is no stranger to the challenges of being a working mother of two, having a family with dogs and still wanting a beautiful home.

“Many clients want a space that is relaxing, pristine, even spa-like,” Danielle says. “On the other hand, they need a space that can withstand the everyday wear and tear of kids, pets and husbands.”

We’re talking real life here. Kids forget to wash their hands, dogs shed, and occasionally husbands don’t take off their dirty shoes. Danielle and her team integrate beautiful design with materials that are tough, forgiving and washable. “We can’t keep your kids’ hands clean, but we can design a space that fosters easy cleaning,” Danielle said. “For example, we can create designer carpet or rug tiles that can be easily replaced by the square when stained.” (Read more of Danielle’s tips and tricks below.)

Danielle and her design team believe maintaining a home shouldn’t be a daunting task after a long day of work. Their goal is to create a space with a look and function that their clients can maintain, and a space that helps make home life – real life – easier.

Open floor plans make family bonding and entertaining easier. Large, durable countertops give enough space for any amount of homework without worrying about color marks or pen scratches. Open space with hardwood flooring provides quick, easy cleaning no matter how many pets.

Keeping the client’s three kids and two dogs in mind, Danielle chose pillows with removable inserts and washable fabric.
