There’s no stopping the annual ritual of fall and winter’s return, ending a summer of fun and festivities at the lake.

Preparing for winter is nothing new, but there could be new problems if property protection measures are skipped, resulting in expensive or time-consuming repair in the spring. A lack of security could also result in loss of valuables or come in the form of property damage.

“Winterizing a property has become more complex,” says Kurt Maethner from KC Lawn, serving the Battle Lake area. “It is not like the old days when you drained a shallow well pump and left.”
