Jamie-Wallace (2)As the lead designer and owner of Calla Lily Designs, Jamie Wallace, CKD designs anything from single room updates to whole home remodels to new home construction. With ten years of design experience, Jamie has put her passion to work on many lakes area homes.

Her approach to design is to create, alongside her clients, a space that can be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come. The company’s motto “our passion, your design” becomes more than just a motto when Jamie begins work on a project. She often finds herself working with clients who have made some design selections of their own prior to beginning to work with her. These selections might be a newly purchased item or a family treasure to be incorporated in the space. Jamie is uniquely talented in her ability to incorporate these elements into her designs alongside the form and function of a newly created space.

With a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Dakota State University of Fargo in Interior Design and Kitchen Design Certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association, Jamie has the training and experience to work closely with builders, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure quality workmanship and attention to detail in all facets of each project. Her extensive experience and creativity have led Jamie to industry recognition but most importantly, extremely satisfied clients. A recent client said, “we would highly recommend Jamie to anyone with a dream…she helps make it happen.”

Birds of Paradise
With this kitchen in an existing cabin on Blanche Lake, our goal was to bring the outdoors in. The feature window and seating area serve as a focal point and is the perfect perch for our clients who are avid bird watchers. A butcher-block topped island makes for easy everyday cooking.

Pops of Red
The client had a definite East Coast flair that we wanted to incorporate into the design, while trying to stay true to the original farmstead. The inspiration for this space was the Cherry Red Big Chill refrigerator that our client had her heart set on from day one. Cabinets are custom painted with distressing and glaze to bring an old feel. We used reclaimed lumber as an accent on the open shelves to add warmth and coordinate with the hand-scraped walnut floors.

In a Word… Simplicity
This remodel, one of our favorites, is a rural Ashby farmhouse where we transformed the existing living room space into an up-to-date kitchen. Less is more in this classy space…featuring painted custom cabinets, laminate tops accented with granite on the table top and accented beautifully by a hand-scraped Acacia hardwood floor.

Rustic Charm
One of the key features in this existing lake cabin was the beautiful pine floor. We chose to accent the knots within it using Knotty Red Birch with a rich stain. Quartz tops accented with granite complete the room and lend elegance and charm to a kitchen ready to be used for generations.

Challenge
Create a beautiful kitchen that will withstand daily abuse. This kitchen sits in one of our region’s seed company offices. Knotty Alder cabinetry topped off with High Definition laminate tops accented by luxury vinyl plank flooring. These finishes will stand the test of time and abuse, while offering a beautiful space in your home or office kitchen.

Accents to Finish the Space
This client came to us with cabinetry already selected and needed to accessorize with tops and backsplash. We coordinated two different quartz tops with the painted and glazed cabinetry and added a custom tile splash featuring 6″ x 6″ tiles on point with glass accents.

Lakeside Splendor
To accent the gorgeous views of West Battle Lake, we kept the cabinetry simple and white and warmed up the space with the Oak-stained Cherry island. The limited use of wall cabinets keep the view focused on the lake. Base cabinets featuring everything from plate storage to pullout trashes to pots and pans storage ensure that all the storage needs are met while the focus remains on nature’s beauty in this timeless kitchen.
